i am a fans of shahrukh khan so when i saw the trailer of don 2, i felt like watching this movie
i didn't watch the first installment but i guess still can follow the plot, thanks to wikipedia and you know... bollywood plot
i am not really into indian movie except for kabhi kushi kabhi gam, mohabbatein, asoka, kuch kuch hotta hai and devdas... oops, they're all starred by mr khan
i like the eyes and the smile of him ... to twiitt
and don (same as the don for godfather) own the drug-traffic for asia and he's about to widen his market to europe, but those cartel bosses are not so happy about it and they agree to kill don, but don's always one step a head from his enemies
and there is love-hate spark between don and police officer roma, who always chase him, something about the death of her brother. don also has the loyal girlfriend and companion aisya (played by lara dutta)
well... this movie made by bollywood but can't help feeling it so bond, james bond, and also mission impossible (note the jumping from 300 m to solid ground - oww... remember mrs smith also jump from that kind of height) and also can't stop comparing to ocean 11 & 13 for so called the perfect crime
this is not my genre, i am more into drama so logic is important, well i like heist too but it has to be logically believable
in ocean 11&13, they showed perfect crime and that was not easy crime, they had to have luck, brain, technology and the best bit-crazy-people, not one man show
however, this is mr khan, i watch the movie for mr khan but i don't understand why i can not watch my name is khan, it's drama and it's mr khan... i don't know
i think the best part of this movie is at the beginning when the don character wore unkempt hairstyle, something different from usual SRK (shah rukh khan) and bit remind me of asoka, intentionally got into prison to break free his enemy yet needed ally (oops it's 'prison break') and he was the villain, yet the love-able villain
as the plot went on, i felt he got softer and softer, more and more unrealistic, as intentionally made to have the fairy tales feeling by shooting it in switzerland, it felt like modern fairy tale, the protagonist-antagonist rode white horse in shining armor (err... here driving black car in shining suit)
overall i like the movie because the leading was khan and although it was only 60-65% part of the movie subtitled, i still could enjoy the movie
